When and what to do?
Entry & Alien Registration

If your spouse is an employer subscriber, you get benefits with no extra premium.

Pregnancy & birth benefits
You can get help with pregnancy/ childbirth medical costs and post‑natal care benefits.
Medical expense insurance Tier A
F‑6 is Tier A. You can join any insurer's medical expense insurance.
Multicultural family support
At the multicultural family support center you can get free Korean lessons, interpretation, and legal counseling.
Please note
If your spouse is unemployed, you’ll have to pay a premium.
If your spouse isn’t a workplace subscriber, they must pay the regional premium themselves.

If your spouse is a regional subscriber, you can’t register as a dependent. Both have to pay regional premiums.
Kids born in Korea automatically join health insurance. Register with NHIS after the birth report.
The multicultural family support center (1577-5432) offers Vietnamese interpretation. Medical interpretation (1644-0644) is also available.
Only family in Korea can join health insurance. Family in Vietnam isn’t covered.
