When and what to do?
Alien registration
Within 14 days after arrivalGet your alien registration card within 14 days after arrival.
Join based on employment status
If employed, you’re a workplace member; if not, you join as a regional member.
Premium payment
Workplace: auto deducted from salary. Unemployed: you pay it yourself.
Pension refund when returning
Refund is possible. Apply at NPS (1355).
How much do you pay?
If you’re employed, the company pays half. If not, you pay all (about 158,630 won/month minimum).

Can look for a job.
You can job‑hunt within allowed fields.
Medical expense insurance Tier A.
You can join any insurer’s medical expense plan.
Pension refund possible.
You can get your pension back when you return.

If unemployed, you’re a regional subscriber and pay the full fee. Minimum about 158,630 won/month.
H‑2 → F‑4 merge planned.
From Feb 2026, H‑2 will merge into F‑4. Check the conversion conditions.
